nsmbUp until very recently, I’d never beaten a Mario game. Shocking, right? It’s not that I never played them; in fact, I have lots of the NES games on Virtual Console, as well as all of the Super Mario Advance games. It’s just that the NES Mario games are really hard, and I just don’t have the platforming prowess to best them just yet. New Super Mario Bros. is actually the first Mario game I ever owned, though I hadn’t played it for a while. I read that it was a lot easier than other Mario games, so I decided to give it a revisit and beat it in only two days!

Review: Nintendo 3DS XL

3DS XLSo I got a PS Vita the other day, and I thought that I should do a review on it. To set a benchmark, though, I wanted to do a review on the Nintendo 3DS XL, easily my most-played game system ever. I’m going to do hardware reviews differently. I’ll still break it down into segments where I talk about various features and points of interest, but I won’t give a percentage score. Instead, I’ll tell you whether I think the console is worth your money and why. Anyway, on to the review!

Review: Chrono Trigger DS

CTDS BoxIf you’ve been following Kantaloupe over the past 6 months or so, you’ll have seen me really get into JRPGs. I played my very first one back in February, Bravely Default. After beating that in June, I bought Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger DS at the same time, but decided to play the former first, since it came out earlier. After that I proceeded immediately to this game, which I have now beaten. (The marathon continues! I just bought a PS Vita on Thursday and downloaded Persona 3 Portable yesterday.)
